These terms govern your use of Smart Kitchen Assistant at https://smartkitchenassistant.co.uk. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Smart Kitchen Assistant provides AI-assisted recipe generation and editing, recipe discovery, saved recipes, and UK-oriented calorie and nutrition tracking including barcode scanning and food search. Features may change; we may offer free trials and paid subscriptions.

2. Not medical advice

Recipes, calorie estimates, and nutrition information are for general information and meal planning only. They are not medical, dietary, or professional health advice. Consult a qualified professional before making health decisions, especially if you have allergies, conditions, or specific nutritional needs. Always verify ingredients and allergen information yourself.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate registration information and keep credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use the service.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the service for unlawful purposes or to harm others.
Attempt to bypass security, scrape excessively, or abuse APIs.
Upload malicious content or infringe intellectual property rights.
Misrepresent AI-generated content as human professional advice.

5. AI-generated content

Recipes and text produced by AI may contain errors. Review ingredients, cooking times, and safety (especially for allergens and undercooked foods) before use. You use generated content at your own risk.

6. Subscriptions & payments

Paid plans and trials are billed via Stripe subject to their terms. Trial length and pricing are shown at checkout. Cancel according to instructions in your account or contact smartkitchenassistant@gmail.com. Refunds are handled at our discretion unless required by law.

7. Camera & barcode scanning

Barcode scanning requires camera permission in your browser. You are responsible for granting permissions only on devices you control. Nutrition data from third-party databases may be incomplete or inaccurate.

8. Intellectual property

We own the platform, branding, and underlying technology. You retain rights to content you create; you grant us a licence to host and process it to operate the service. Third-party recipe sources remain subject to their own licences.

9. Disclaimer & liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of recipes, nutrition data, or the platform.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
